Hi, yes to record you will have to disable youview, you should be able to record just fine through freeview but if you view is on it won't allow you to do so, so you will have to turn off youview, you might wanna check this link:

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/televisions-projectors/articles/00179203

To disable YouView

Press [Home] button on the remote control

Go to 'Settings'

Go to 'Channel Setup'

Go to 'YouView Setup'

Select 'Disable YouView'

Select 'Yes' to confirm

Hi

I'm considering the Sony 48 inch OLED TV but need some info regarding the Freeview/Youview situation. My current tv has Freeview play and I can record onto usb thumb drive. I'm not familiar with youview and have read that it is not compatible with usb recording. Does this mean that I would need to go to Freeview to record or is Freeview and youview somehow combined and recording to usb thumb drive is not possible at all? Would appreciate an explanation of how it works please.
