Sony OLED XR-A90J 55" - Recording & Streaming

Hi,

Do anyone know whether XR OLED A90J 55" can record* cable tv (through tuner) and at the same time run an app via streaming - (so displaying the app** content while recording through the tuner) ?

[* recording via USB Harddisk

**app could be fx. a cable broadcast tv app which allow to see all tv channels through streaming]

You can watch a 2nd channel while recording if you use 2 tuners at the same time, but you can't record while streaming from an app as far as I know. And this is only for Digital and Satellite, cable only has 1 tuner so this is not even possible at all.

I'm still interested in comments from people that have tried testing it themselves.
(..USB recording through tuner and display (app) streaming simultaneously) - cause a Sales person told me it was indeed possible (without having time to test it in shop);

The OP’s requirement may or may not be possible for other reasons - hardware or software limitations for instance - but as only one tuner is involved in recording from a tuner while streaming from an app, why do you say it would not be possible because cable has only one tuner?

Is this for cable specifically, or any tuner?

And if you rely on anything a sales assistant says when buying a TV, then tell him/her you are relying on it, get it shown you in print, get it demoed, or get it in writing!

(I do get your point about Sales people in terms of getting it in writing - i just don't want all the hazzle - buy - unpack - return etc.. if somebody in the Sony community had up-front experience)

Thank you for highlighting that! I double-checked my info and turns out I confused the app recording with recording WHILE streaming from an app. Much appreciated as always! ^^

No - This thread has not been answered (I might have misinterpreted the replies uptill now - pardon me if thats the case) - I don't see any answering my question - in that no-one knows it (or tried it themselves) - I do agree that technically - using the tuner (recording) and at the same time streaming should be possible - but I don't know whether the TV allows it.

Any Sony Android TV can do it. You can run anything while recording

I can confirm that a90j do offer the option to record through tuner while watching a streaming app.
