KD 55 AF8 Turning on and off

My 2018 Sony KD55 AF8 has just today, when turned on,by the remote, goes into normal screen mode showing the normal available Apps etc.

When I try to select, by the remote, eg UTube or Prime,it turns off, then starts up itself ?

I have unplugged every attachment, firestick BT box etc then switched off from all power and waited 10 mins, but it goes through the above again! I can't get to settings as its just goes through the shutdown process and the remote has no control over this?

Has anyone any other solutions or is it a hardware problem 🤔

Appreciate any help offered

Try testing your remote using this guide, maybe some button is stuck and causing this (most likely power button, but could be another one or just the remote itself).

Thanks, but had checked the remote first, I actually had changed batteries a few weeks earlier, but changed them again, just in case.I carried out the usual electronic check, switch off everything isolating the TV from the wall socket and all hardware attachments, Firestick Dvd Box, BT Box etc! Then restarted the TV, but it was the same, home screen perfect, use the remote it switched off then On?So Disconnected everything again and left it for a few hours thinking its a hardware problem! Due to the football being on I then tried it one more time about 1830 and It fired up and was working normally?So must have been some sort of software malfunction which eventually corrected itself?Thank you for replying, JimSent from my Galaxy

It does seem like a glitch. Well, glad it's gone now, but keeping the TV up to date is never a bad idea (especially to avoid glitches like those).

Thks Joe, yes it has been working as normal since! I have the auto update switched on but also check manually regularly!
