Sony A8H - Control old Sony amp

I was wondering if there's anyway of getting the Sony remote to control my old Sony str da-1200es amp. The amp doesn't support ARC.

My setup.

Sony A8H

Sky Q

Fire TV

Sony str da-1200es

The remote can control my sky q and fire tv,

I've even reprogramed the Netflix button on the remote using button mapper to open a different app.

Just need a way to control the amp, any ideas?

I do have a harmony hub and remote which can control it all but I really like the way the Sony remote knows what I'm on and auto switches the buttons to control the active device.

I don't think the amp supports Bravia Sync/Control for HDMI. I tried checking the Manual and there's not a single mention of that, so possibly out of luck on that front unfortunately.

It certainly doesn't support s nc control via hdmi.

Only way I think I might be able to achieve it is using button mapper to call a reset api and then using something like the harmony api to send the IR commands from its hub.

Seems a bit of a faf.

Surprised Sony didn't include in the remote the ability to program and send infrared as the remote can send infrared and does for stuff like the TV power button
