BT Home button on remote for Sony KD48A9

I just set up the new TV and sync'd the Sony remote with the BT TV Box.

It works great, but the only button that I would regularly use is the BT Home button to access the recordings on the box. I cant see where this is so I don't believe it has sync'd.

Been looking all morning for a solution but cant see it anywhere.

Is it possible to assign a single button. I'm thinking the 'Recordings' button, or maybe the 'Google Play' button.

I think this is the YouView key whose DirectFB mapping is DIKS_MENU, so if you have a button on your remote marked Menu, or equivalent, or very similar, try that.

You could try the HOME button (and maybe you have) but the Home symbol on these BT remotes maps to the ‘y’ symbol, on the same blue button, on earlier YouView remotes, and you could see if anyone has found a mapping for that.

So the home button on the Sony remote takes you to the Android TV home menu.

I found a solution though, the i+ button under the number 7 takes you to a TV menu. Since my UHD BT TV box is set up as my 'TV', it looks to be some sort of menu for that. from there there there is another 'menu' option which brings up the corresponding screen on the BT TV box, from which i can select recordings.

So, i can now finally ditch the BT remote and work with just this one.

Loving the TV by the way. Only complaint so far is that i think you should be able to customise the view and apps on the Android TV home screen a lot more than you can. Perhaps you can and i just havnt found it yet

You can press and hold the middle/OK button to edit the layout, I tried it on the favorite apps strip at the top, and to adjust the ordering of the rows somewhat. Hope this helps ^^

Hi again.

So I have another issue which I thought I would post here since it relates to the Sony remote controlling the BT TV box.

Since my last post this has been working fine. But today I noticed it stopped controlling the BT TV box. I puah the TV button and the usually screen oops up prompt ING me to 'turn on', but hitting select does nothing. I power on the box with the BT remote but then switching back to the so y remote it does nothing.

I have no idea why this stopped working.

I've spent 30 mins in Google with no luck.

I am trying this:

Home - Settings- watching TV - external inputs

From here I've done external device set up again and this was fine.

So I then go to TV Box Setup - TV box control set up and follow the screen instructions. It shows me a thumbnail of the input fine, but then when it searches for the TV box it just never finishes. I've tried several times and all cables are fully plugged in.

Have no idea. I seem to remember it finding it straight away on the initial set up

This works perfectly - thanks for your help!

The only question now is how to delete an old recording? I can choose delete on the YouView menu if it is a program which is grouped together but there is no actual delete button on the remote to delete a show which is not part of a group.

Just found out that the delete button is the subtitles button.

Yeah... The delete button is grouped with subs on the BT TV remote so makes sense.

Before my remote stopped controlling the BT box I also noticed that pushing the TV button on the Sony remote again, ie when you are already viewing the BT TV, takes you to the main menu. A little easier than having to push the i+ button.

Thought I'd try again to sync my Sony remote. This time it found the box straight away, but the next step is to select your provider and this time it's on this section that it just hangs on. Must be a bug

I've resolved this now. i turned off the TV at the wall for 5 mins and tried again. seems to re-sync the remote.
