    <description>&lt;P&gt;My TV uses an old Sony 5.1 Home Cinema system rather than internal speakers. &amp;nbsp;It’s pre ARC so using the optical cable between the TV and sound system.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;In general it works pretty well but every 3 or 4 days when I turn it on no sound comes out of the Home Cinema system, which indicates the signal from the TV is the problem.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Forcing the TV to restart from the remote fixes the problem, once the problem occurs it happens for all inputs Sky, XBox, etc...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any thoughts on what to try to fix this?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;When you say no sound from the Home Cinema System, does that mean no sound at all? Or does the sound come out from the TV speakers instead?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'd recommend making sure that both the TV and system are up to date as well.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I can find the &lt;A href="https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-xh85xx_x85xxh_xh91xx-series/kd-49xh8505/downloads/00016908" target="_blank"&gt;TV update&lt;/A&gt; since you shared the model.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- J.D.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;No sound from the TV speakers as TV Sound is set to Audio System.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If I flip it back to speakers I get sound, but nothing will come out of the Audio System until I restart the TV.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;TV is up up to date with software.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Did you happen to try the system with a different TV or the TV with a different system?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you haven't or it isn't possible, I'd recommend resetting both to factory settings and try connecting them again, ideally with nothing else connected.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The system has been working for 10+ years with the old TV. &amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Happened again this morning, first time for a couple of weeks, TV reset fixed it. &amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN&gt;Feels like a software bug in the TV linked to optical out, it’s a bit annoying but easily resolved.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
