Bravia TV picture seems to flicker dark / light or light / dark.

Does anyone know how to fix my TV picture which flickers dark / light or light / dark at perhaps 2 or 3 second intervals from time to time? I have experienced this problem since I was forced to do a factory reset following the android update earlier in the year which kept crashing my TV . I have a KD-49XF9005 TV

This seems like a glitch to me, do you currently have the latest software version installed? This is the latest one available at the moment (v6.6555): https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-xf90xx_x90xxf-series/kd-49xf9005/downloads/00016668

Thank you J.D. Although the TV believed that it had the latest version, using auto update, it was at an older version. I have done a manual update to the latest version and will see how it goes. Thanks for you help. I'll update shortly if this fixes the problem.
