topic Rif.: Unsupport Signal Sky Q in Android TV

Hi @LightFoot

Thanks for the reply.

Good to know that the 1080i should be the most robust setting for the output. I was aware of the setting resolution without any video output, but I have never had the screen flick back on after this procedure.

Yes, have been using the pink ended lead from the box. I have just dug out my XBox One and Wii U HDMI cables to try when the issue returns.

I have also written down the key sequence for changing to any of the resolutions just to see if switching between them in a broken state helps.

Will keep digging and trying these things when I’m allowed to ‘break the TV’ from a precarious working state achieved from the first boot in the morning!

Thanks again!

Hi Guys,

just wanted to ask what can cause an unsupported signal error.

the issue I am having is with Sky Q HD box- and the issue is intermittent. (So does work occasionally in some circumstances)

I get the ‘Unsupported signal error. Check output’ but the audio is still playing.

Initially I thought it was a HDMI hand shake issue... but I’m not sure the audio would still be playing? Could someone with knowledge on these things confirm?

many thanks, any replies are much appreciated.

Rob

Have you activate the Advanced format for the HDMI Input that use with Sky Q?

Hi Marino,

No I haven’t!! This sounds important.

where can I find it and what is it called?

My TV is 2014 KD55X8505B, maybe it is called something different or not available on my TV?

Really appreciate your reply and any further details you may have.

Cheers

Rob

There is not for your TV, maybe the problem then is in the Sky Q HDR and that the TV does not support... You should maybe choose only 4K out of Sky Q.

Ciao Marino,

Unfortunately I only have the HD Sky Q box with no UHD output, so stuck with the HD 720/1080i/1080p outputs.

Is there anyway I can check compatibility through specifications? What specifications are important for this issue?

As specs you should be in order, I think more of the HDMI cable at this point...

Obviously make sure that it is connected securely. Are you using the pink ended HDMI cable that was supplied with the box?
