Hi all. Hoping someone can offer some advice on this one.

Was the happy owner of a Sony KD49XD8077SU up until 4 days ago and unsurprisingly 8 days out of warranty when things started to go pear-shaped. The symptoms started with alternating brightness every 3 seconds, then there appeared to be grey bands on the right of the screen popping in and out as it alternated the brightness. Turned the TV on today and I have an addition of lots of fast moving small black lines across the entire screen pulsing in and out every 3 seconds?

I've reset the TV, flashed firmware, kept the TV off for 2 days and checked the TV's self test in the service menu which reports nothing?

Been in touch with the local repairers and they've said either power board or T-Con although I'm not sure given that diagnostic didn't flag either as defective.

Any thoughts?
