KD-49XF9005 remote control not working

my remote (RMF-TX310E) has stop working suddenly. the only feature that works is the mike for voice control.

Any advice on how to solve it?

Hi @Movaschi

The voice control uses Bluetooth so it looks like a problem with IR. Make sure the receiver on the TV is not obscured by anything. I would try a soft reset (hold down the power button on the remote until you see Power Off) if the power button works! If not unplug from the mains and leave off for 5 minutes. Try new batteries in the remote.

batteries are new and healthy. The IR is responsive when pressing the remote buttons. Not sure if signals are ok though.

I have art soft reset but did not work. and there is a direct line of sight for IR remote to IR receiver.

My worries are that is the TV receiver IR sensor not working rather than remote. Is there a way to troubleshoot and eliminate possible bigger problem?

unfortunately TV has only 3 buttons (volume and power)....

Hi @Movaschi

If you are still in warranty then I would give Sony UK Support a call. They will send you a new remote or at least take you through the diagnostic steps.

You should be able to download an app, just search for Sony Remote to keep you going.

Replacement or even cheaper compatible remotes are available if you want to test your IR receiver. Amazon are useful because you can immediately return one for a full refund.
