i read that sony tv can connect up to 16tb external drive, i want to buy the new Seagate 8TB external drive portable without power will it work with my Sony KD75Z9F TV through the usb port or i need to buy usb with power source, moreover, doesn't can i connect usb hub to my tv???

Welcome to the Sony Online Community!

If the 8TB external storage device has an internal Hard Disk it will require its own dedicated power supply. If it has a Solid State Disk then chances are that it can pull the necessary current from the dedicated USB port on your TV marked with a higher current.

The question that makes me very curious is the need for 8TB external storage space.
