KD-65XF8577 green screen vertical bars big noise

Sometimes (frequency 1-2 times / week) my KD-65XF8577 turns to a green (ish) screen with vertical bars and generates a very intense noise. It would not revert to normal. The noise is so intense that I must turn the TV off. The TV would not start again unless I unplug and leave it unplugged for more than 10 minutes. I have asked the service people to check it out but they couldn't find anything wrong with the equipment. Any idea on what's going on?

Have you tried a factory reset?

If that doesn't work I would contact Sony support again.
