kd-43xd8305 supports eARC?

I have the kd-43xd8305 connected with my avr via ARC.At this moment ARC doesnt support TrueHD passthrough and 5 channel PCM sound.

HDMI 2.1 is already on the market.Will Sony support eARC on older tv's?Do we have any info?

eArc is an hardware feature and cannot be implemented on older tv. It is available only in the new master series models for Sony (Af9 and ZF9)

Hi rooobb

I notice that the latest soundbars have been updated with eArc via firmware, is there confirmation anywhere that this won’t come to the 2018 TVs as well? i.e XF90?

I do not have any info like this, but really I do not expect that any previous model will support eARC. Do not know technically if it is the same to manage it on the receiver side or the sender side but my guess is that Sony would not invest on it in any case
