Downloaded latest software and now picture darkens after about 20 seconds. Its dull and horrible. Totally ruining my enjoyment of the World Cup. Tried all different options including light sensor on/off, no difference, really poor!

Hi Fraz57,

I think a factory reset might help on this one. You can reset the TV from Home - Settings - Storage and Reset - Factory settings. If it didn't help, could you reply with a short video showing this issue?

Tried a factory re set and no change.

A video wont help as my camera makes the picture a lot brighter than it is.

When I go into the menu,. the picture brightens up but it only stays sharp and bright for about 20 seconds then the brightness decreases and the picture looks dull, full of contrast and lacks sharpness. It then stays that way.

Either there is a fault with the light sensor or there is a software issue but someting will have to be done as the picture is shocking.

Just to give you an update, the picture is now actually flickering as well. Definitely looks like a fault.

I have the same issue with dimming.

Watching the BBC Iplayer HDR Stream the screen dims and becomes almost unwatchable. This is on my A1 65 inch.

I never had this issue before until the DV firmware update.

Sony needs to allow us to roll back firmware until they fix this mess.

@Fraz57 The England game last night had a technical fault, from the FIFA broadcast, the commentators even mentioned it on BBC One in the second half as my TV kept going brighter and dimmer and its an XE90 which isn't supposed to have that issue. So many two issues here.

The broadcast last night had flicking issues, however, the TV is dimming. Same it happening right now on the Col and JPN match.

On my A1 65, the dimming of the screen during football on BBC HDR stream makes the viewing unwatchable. It starts as it should then over the course of a minute or two it just gets darker and darker. This was never an issue before the DV update. Its as if the TV ABL is too aggressive.

Dose this dimming issue happen only with the world cup BBC HDR stream? have you tried other contents in HDR to make sure that the issue is caused by the TV?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

Tried all content, including HDR football without the static score section. It seems the dimming only happens when the static score in football is there, remove the static score section and dimming no longer occurs. I posted in the dimming thread.
