X940E HDMI 2.1 upgrade ?

All HDMI ports on the 940E are HDMI 2.0 standard ports. The HDMI 2.0 standard allows ARC to carry DD 5.1, DD 7.1, Dolby Digital+, DTS 5.1, DTS 6.1. The only thing it won't carry as far as I know is lossless Dolby TrueHD/ATMOS and DTS HD/X, these require the HDMI 2.1 standard which comes with eARC capabilites.

The difference in HDMI 2.0 and 2.1 standards is only software/processing related (no hardware changes) so technically the 940E could be upgraded to HDMI 2.1 standard in the future, it definitely has the power for it.

Will Sony provide this upgrade to their customers?
