However randomly I go in and it gives this message "registered usb hdd could not be detected". To fix this, I restart the TV. The TV is a Sony Bravia&nbsp;kd49xd8305bu. Drives registered for recording and those formatted as internal storage tend to go missing after a while. Regular external drives change their path sometimes so apps can't see them.
