Hi @geoffrey-b and welcome to the Community

That does seem too short.

Are you using value brand batteries?

Are you mixing brands or new and old batteries?

There are factors that can cause a remote to drain battery life faster than normal, but unless

you have it wedged down the couch accidentally pressing a button, you hold down buttons

alot longer than necessary, or generally use alot of the buttons regularly this shouldn't happen.

Its probably worth giving Support a call on +44 (0) 2073652810

to check.

Cheers

You need to be using branded alkaline batteries in these remotes, not so called 'heavy duty' zinc chlorides. Fwiw I can confirm that I am on my second set (it may actually even be the third) in 15 months and the RC gets minimal use (as I normally use the one from my DVD recorder).

(I have a small flatscreen Philips 15" TV from the 1980's and still have the original Maxell batteries for the original handset. The expiry date is Sept 1986 and they still operate perfectly with zero sign of leakage)
