Bravia 4K 2015 TV Picture Freeze While Audio Continues

So since the Marshmallow update i've noticed two things happening randomly on my Bravia.

First, during TV watching it has suddenly pixelated the whole screen, made a load "crack" noise and then crashed needing a reboot. It's done this twice, not for a week now.

Second, tonight while watching live TV we had two instances where the video froze and the audio continued. Needed a reboot again.

I'm assuming this is all Marshmallow/software related and I don't have the will to live to spend hours on the phone to "help desks" who will step me through some factory reset process that will make things worse judging by other threads.

Any worthwhile suggestions or do I just live with it ? Funny how SONY used to be the watchword for quality, seems to have lost that reputation.

You mention factory reset - have you tried it. Instructions HERE.

Also, it doesnt make the TV worse - its normally the quickest way to solve problems - especially weird ones.
