Connecting a Sony Bravia 49XD8305 to Sky HD Box

I wondered if someone could advise me on this, I briefly tried to connect the TV last night to no avail, i got to the part where it was carrying out a search but found nothing, I've only one connection from the box to the TV and that's a HDMI cable, is there another lead I should be connecting ? Has anyone got a link to installing a Smart TV for non tech people like me ?

Any help greatly appreciated.
