Illumination led won't switch off

I have a xd8088 tv.

I have the illumination led set to only show when the remote is being used. Although I have that as the setting, the led is staying on all the time, even if there is no remote being used.

I can can switch it off completely but don't want to do that.

Anyone know now how to fix this?

Hi there

On some TVs you can customise the illumination LED - but Sony seems to have added a caveat in the online instruction manual:

[Illumination LED]: Customises the Illumination LED.; (The availability of this function depends on your model.)

Check the settings again and see - but if not, you might be out of luck on this one.

I did a full power down and then back on and its sorted itself out.
