Hi, thanks for the reply. The issue was exactly as you thought, and nothing to do with the update. It's been repaired on site by John Lewis and is back up and running. They knew what the problem was before even looking at it.

I must say I'm shocked that so many of these tv's have experienced the same issue! I hope the replacement board is a newer design and not likely to fail again.

Regards

Paul

I updated my tv to marshmellow last night, this worked perfectly and rebooted as expected. I used Sky Q and the Amazon app afterwards with no issues, apart from a crash and reboot when switching between the two.

Today the tv is dead. It wont respond to the sony remote or harmony, or the on switch on the left of screen. I've unplugged it and left it for an hour, then tried again, and changed the fuse in the plug.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Paul

Hi there

This sounds very like this issue:

https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/android-tv/xd9305-loss-of-all-power/td-p/2266186

You will need to contact an authorised Sony repair centre and get them to fix it. See:

http://services.sony.co.uk/support/en/repair/asc

Cheers

Hi @paulelliott99

Yes I am also surprised at the number of power failures too. I raised this with Sony. They have assured me that the replacement DSP board is different to the original one installed on the TV. However unfortunately Sony cannot seem to replicate this issue in their labs either.

Anyway, happy viewing again

Cheers
