How to record on my Sony TV

I would like to start recording on my Sony TV which is a KDL--42w653A.I have ben using a Humax set top box to record to but have been having problems with it lately.Can anyone advise on how to record on the TV .believe I have to connect a drive which has been formatted to that TV and once formatted cannot then be used on my laptop.I have a 2tb drive but that is too big wa thinking of using a 250gb drive.Any hlp would be appreciated.

Could I just use a memory stick plugged into TV and record on that though not sure what size of memory stick I would need

Hi there

YEs you can plug in a USB drive - just bear in mind not all of them work and so its a big of a trial and error. However I have not come across any of my USB drives that doesnt work.

You will need a minimum of 32GB drive and it must be registered to the TV.
