Hi Quinnicus,

Thanks for the response. I actually had to update twice. The first one went
fine and then the next day when I turned it on, the TV said there was
another update! I'm guessing that as there had been two updates that I
hadn't bothered updating, they need to be done in sequence (which makes no
sense but hey!).

So it's definitely not in Auto mode, as I went and had a check of the
settings. To be fair, I haven't done a Factory reset yet.I wasn't having
any problems really, the only reason I did update was because the Amazon
video app wouldn't start. I still don't have 5.1 on that, but that could be
down to the lack of factory reset (The Grand Tour looks lovely in UHD!).

I had the same problem with another 4k file last night, but with different
picture settings! In a "clutching at straws" IT problem solving moment, I
thought it may be that they are HDR files but as my model isn't HDR, the TV
is trying to compensate! That makes even less sense than my update comment!

Anyway, the picture is still brilliant and as I don't use the "TV" part of
it (I've got a PVR, a PS3, a PS4, a Raspberry Pi with Kodi installed and an
80gb/sec fibre internet connection), it doesn't really matter. I can cope
with the odd file not playing correctly! 😀

PS.

I do genuinely feel sorry for all the people who have loads of issues with
these TVs, I seem to have been quite lucky! Or it's the way I use it. A
better processor and more RAM would have definitely helped though....

Last night I experienced something new (and frustrating)...

I was watching a 4k video and the colour looked way off so I thought I'd check the settings. I was right, the settings were completely different to what they should have been, and they were locked i.e. I was unable to make any changes. As soon as I stopped playing the file they changed back to were they should have been. I tried playing another couple of files (4k and 1080p) and the settings were correct AND I was able to change them.

I've not bothered updating the TV with the last couple of updates, but I'm updating it now to see if that makes a difference.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi there

Have you enabled Auto Picture mode by any chance? As that is what Im guessing at this stage.

How did it go after the FW update?

Cheers
